[BEGINNERS  CLASSES AT CITY YMCA ]

"BELLY BASIC, FUN & FITNESS" CLASS

Venue: City YMCA Aerobics room (Cnr of Hereford St & Rolleston Ave)

• Saturday morning  Class 11am-12pm (Term 4 starting date: 16 October- 8 lessons/term)
• Thursday evening  Class 7:30-8:30pm (Term 4 starting date:14 October-9 lessons /term)

Lesson fee:  $11 casual or Term payment ($85 for Thursday class/$76 for Saturday class)   *Concession card($90 for 9 lessons) also available (can be used over 2 terms) 

• The class focuses on fun & fitness using bellydance moves
• Learning and drilling basic movements (core technique) and veil technuque
• Combinations and a simple choreography 
• No pressure to perform or making costume
• Suitable for any ages & fitnes levels
• No previous dance experience nessesary

Enjoy dancing to exotic Arabic music and get fit while having fun! Please bring your water bottle to the class!!

[Classes for Beyond beginners & Experienced dancers]

*Level 2/3 Oriental  Class *

Saturday 12:10pm-1:10pm     at City YMCA 

In this class, students will learn chiffon veil / non-veil choreographies(Classical /contemporary) , new techinque and extension of baisc technique / layered moves to get students ready for the next level choreography(Level 3).    Students are also introduced to three basic Egyptian rhythms (maqsoum family) and music study. Zill work (finger cymballs) will be introduced at this level. There are performance oppotunities for students who wish to perform for haflas or the School's annual show.                                                      

In Term 3 & 4, this class is learning Khaleegy drum solo choreography and basic level 3 technique

*Level 3 Oriental class*

-Thursday morning class      9:30-10:30am  in Opawa                                                              

The class covers choreographies (organza veil / zills /drum solo / Isis wing/ Classical & Modern Egyptian / Contemporary / Oriental-flamenco fusion with double skirts) and  level 3 technique, intro for solo work and more depth of Middle Eastern rhythm and music study.

In Term 3, the class is learning zill choreography to Lebanese music

*Level 3 /4 Oriental class*

-Saturday 2:30-3:30pm      at City YMCA

In term 3, this class is learning Double Veil (3m semi-circular veil x 2) technique & choreography

*Middle Eastern Folkloric class*

 Saturday afternoon class   1:20-2:20pm   At City YMCA

This is mixed-level folkloric choreography class. Anyone who has completed Intro course (beginners class) can enrol for the class.   In Term 3, this class will work on Ghawazee group piece which will be taught and facilitated by guest tutor Zumarrad
